ATI was established in 1988 with the objective of providing quality aerospace research and development products under aggressive time schedules. ATI is ISO9001/AS9100 certified and 100% employee-owned company dedicated to customer satisfaction.
Located in an 84,000 square foot facility in Newport News, Virginia, ATI provides engineering and fabrication services, producing a wide variety of wind tunnel models and facilities equipment; full-scale models, mockups and training devices; manned and unmanned prototype flight vehicles; composite and metal aerospace structures and components; and composite rotor blades and tooling with a special expertise in developing advanced composite fan blades, rotor blades, and propellers.
In 2015, ATI expanded its tooling manufacturing capabilities with the addition of a 17,000 square foot facility and a 16 foot by 90 foot, 3-axis robotic CNC machining center. ATI’s tooling division supports both the marine and aerospace industries.
ATI has established an outstanding performance record with on-time deliveries of quality hardware produced for its primary customer base including The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Sikorsky Aircraft, Bell Helicopter, and NASA. ATI has also provided research projects for GE Aircraft Engine Group, Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, BAE Systems, Augusta Aerospace, the Defense Research Agency (UK), the University of Maryland, Texas A&M, and many other U.S. and international customers.

ATI is providing wind tunnel support services under a fourth consecutive 5-year contract with NASA for Ames, Langley, Glenn, and Marshall Research Centers.
ATI's location in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia provides ready access to major aerospace research facilities and military installations including NASA Langley Research Center, Old Dominion University, Langley Air Force Base, Norfolk Naval Operating Base and Naval Air Station, Little Creek Marine Corps Amphibious Base, Fort Eustis, Army Structures Lab (AATD), and Oceana Naval Air Station.

Design and Analysis Tools
ATI's Engineering Department utilizes desktop personal computers running Solid Works, Pro/Engineer and Key Creator computer-aided design (CAD) software, MSC/NASTRAN for Windows, Pro/Mechanical and ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software, and FEMAP, Microsoft Office Tools and other specialized aerodynamic, rotor performance and structural dynamic analysis programs.
ATI's Fabrication Department utilizes Pro/Engineer computer-aided manufacture (CAM) software to machine contoured parts on ATI’s 3 and 5-axis CNC milling machines, lathes and wire cut EDM’s.
ATI's CAD/CAM system accepts numerical data from all other computer systems using an IGES or STEP translator.
